2012 Summer Olympics

Gamma Tau is wishing everyone a very happy summer vacation 🙂

Wow, this summer has been flying by! Our sisters have been doing so many wonderful things during our time away from JMU and we will be featuring several stories on what we have been up to.

But first, we want to not only spread some Delta spirit, but also American pride as we cheer on our country during the 2012 summer Olympics in London, England. Tonight marks the beginning of the games and Gamma Tau is thrilled to root for some of our own Tri Delta sisters and JMU alumni!

We can’t wait to throw up our Delta signs as we watch our sisters Muffy Davis (Paracycling Paralympic Team), Annika Dries (Women’s Water Polo), Abby Johnston (Women’s Synchronized 3m Springboard), Mariya Koroleva (Synchronized Swimming Women’s Duets), and Paige Railey (Women’s Laser Radial Sailing) compete! Be sure to look out for these women; we are so inspired by our strong sisters, good luck ladies!

Not only are we excited to support our Tri Delta sisters in the Olympics, but also our fellow James Madison Dukes! We will be watching Eva Hannesdottir (Women’s Swimming) and Jacob Wukie (Men’s Archery) go for the gold. Even some purple and gold was spotted during the Olympic trials, go get ’em Dukes!

Clearly, we are so excited for the Olympics, and in case you didn’t know, Gamma Tau recently performed a Greek Sing routine inspired by this summer’s Olympics. Check out this video if you haven’t already seen or if you can’t get enough of watching this fun performance.

We hope you enjoy the Olympics as much as we will and again, best of luck to our Delta sisters and fellow Dukes! Look out for more stories on our sisters’ summer so far, which will include trips to St. Jude, Tri Delta Convention, study abroad trips, internships, and so much more. We can’t wait to share them!

Delta “Olympic and American” Love,

-Gamma Tau
